Free technical SEO checker: find what stops search engines reading your site

The free technical SEO checker crawls your homepage and up to 9 more pages, then checks crawlability, indexability, site structure, security, structured data, mobile rendering and page speed. You get a score, an overall health rating and every issue graded critical, high, medium, low or info, with mobile and desktop PageSpeed scores for your homepage.

What the checker looks at

  • Crawlability: error and redirected pages, pages blocked by robots.txt, noindex pages, canonical tags, pages with no internal links in or out, deep pages, pages missing from the sitemap, and whether robots.txt and a sitemap exist.
  • Indexability: noindex in meta tags and headers, missing or mismatched canonicals, duplicate indexable URLs.
  • Site structure: URL depth, orphan and weakly linked pages, missing image alt text, redirect chains and loops.
  • Security: HTTPS, www and non-www consistency, security headers and mixed content.
  • Structured data: JSON-LD, Organization and breadcrumb markup, hreflang.
  • Mobile rendering: viewport, tap targets, content that overflows the screen, and whether mobile shows the same content as desktop.
  • Page speed: browser performance on each page crawled, with LCP and CLS, plus Google PageSpeed Insights mobile and desktop scores for your homepage.

How to read the result

Issues are grouped by area and listed most urgent first. Site-level issues, such as a missing sitemap, are shown separately from page-level ones. Fix critical and high issues on your main templates first, because one template fix covers many pages.

What it cannot tell you

The check looks at 10 pages, so findings about orphan pages and link depth describe those pages, not your whole site. It does not compare raw and rendered HTML or check llms.txt; the report lists anything it did not check. It never follows redirects to another domain: if your homepage redirects elsewhere, the check stops and says so.

What to do next

The technical SEO checklist explains each area and how to fix it. If you want it done, Technical Remediation, Standard fixes up to 50 prioritised issues and re-crawls to confirm each one.

Questions

How long does it take?

Usually a few minutes; larger or slower sites take longer, and the check stops after about 7 minutes. Keep the page open while it runs.

Is this the same as Google Search Console?

No. Search Console shows how Google has seen your site over time; this check crawls 10 pages now. Use both.
