SEO + Generative Engine Optimization (GEO) roadmap template

This roadmap template puts Google and AI search tasks in one sheet. Each row is a finding turned into a task with an owner, a due date, the evidence behind it, an impact, confidence and effort rating, and a re-check date. Download the blank sheet, or start with the filled example: our own dated fix list for adviora.ai.

What the roadmap contains

A finding is not a task until it has an owner and a date. This sheet turns each finding from an audit, Search Console or an AI visibility report into one row you can sort, assign and close. If you track Answer Engine Optimization (AEO) work, it goes in the same sheet as the SEO work.

Each column, and how to fill it:

  • Finding. What you observed, with its source and date.
  • Task. The fix, written as a verb.
  • Channel. Google, AI engines, or both.
  • Pages affected. The URLs, or "site-wide".
  • Evidence tag. Where the finding came from: audit, Search Console, panel run or GA4.
  • Impact (1 to 3). How much the fix moves visibility if it works.
  • Confidence (1 to 3). How sure you are that it will work.
  • Effort (S, M, L). Small, medium or large.
  • Owner. One named person or role.
  • Due date. One date.
  • Status. Open, in progress, shipped or dropped.
  • Re-check date and what to re-check. When you will look again, and at what.
  • Pack, if we do it for you. The fixed-price Action Pack that does the work, if you want our team to do it.

Impact, confidence and effort are the ordering fields: sort by impact, then by effort.

The filled example: our own fix list, 19 October to 1 November 2026

The blank sheet has these columns: Finding, Task, Channel, Pages affected, Evidence tag, Impact (1-3), Confidence (1-3), Effort (S/M/L), Owner, Due date, Status, Re-check date and what to re-check, Pack (if we do it for you).

How to review it weekly

  1. Sort by impact, then by effort, and work from the top.
  2. Close the rows whose re-check date has passed, and record what moved and what did not.
  3. Add a new finding only with a source tag and a date.
  4. When you re-check an AI visibility row, keep the prompt set and the date range the same as the first run, so the two runs can be compared. See AI share of voice: define the denominator.

If your rows come from an audit, run a full AI visibility audit yourself first.
